About us
It started with a drink.
We are a group of six local school students in Singapore, and we started this initiative in 2021.
Our story
What we saw
Every time we went to East Coast Lagoon Food Village, we ordered the same thing: sugarcane juice.
We would watch the stall owner make it fresh in front of us. Then we noticed what was left behind. The bagasse, all the sugarcane remains, was piled up on the ground, only to end up in large dumpsters in the car park.
At the time, our group was working on a sustainable hydroponic gardening project in school. So we decided to do something about all that material that would otherwise go to waste.
The project is still running today, after a two-year pause when one of us moved abroad.
